Begin with a €89 Pre-Assessment Consultation. If a full assessment is suitable, you'll progress through four structured sessions over 4–6 weeks, ending with a recognised diagnostic report and personalised support plan.
Already have an autism diagnosis? Access regular therapy with autism-informed psychologists who understand your strengths, with personalised strategies and supportive resources tailored to your needs.
A supportive, personalised process: take breaks when needed, invite a trusted person, and move at your own pace.
A ~60-minute video consultation to discuss your history and find out whether a full assessment is the right next step.
Four sessions over 4–6 weeks combining structured interviews, validated questionnaires and clinical observation, all via secure video.
Your psychologist talks you through the findings: your diagnosis if applicable, and your individual strengths.
A comprehensive written report with tailored, strengths-based recommendations and next steps for work, study and daily life.
An autism assessment is more than a diagnosis; it's a neuroaffirmative way to make sense of your experiences. The approach identifies your cognitive, social and sensory strengths while addressing the challenges of living in a world that doesn't always accommodate your needs.
For many adults, assessment reframes a lifetime of experiences with self-understanding and self-compassion, with autism treated as an identity, not a set of "deficits".
The neuroaffirmative approach identifies your cognitive, social, sensory and adaptive strengths, special interests and preferred ways of interacting, not just challenges.
A recognised report supports reasonable accommodations at work or in education, DARE applications and, depending on functional impact, access to disability supports.
Many adults mask traits or make accommodations that hide their autistic profile. A comprehensive assessment can uncover underlying patterns even when previous life functioning has covered them, recognising autism as a different way of experiencing the world.
You only ever pay for the next step, and only progress when a psychologist confirms it's right for you. Klarna lets you split any payment into 3 interest-free monthly instalments.
A ~60-minute secure video consultation: a low-pressure first step with no obligation to continue.
A comprehensive understanding of how autism uniquely presents in you, across four structured sessions.
Booked only after your pre-assessment, if a full assessment is suitable.
A full recognised diagnosis report with strengths-based insights and tailored recommendations.
Delivered after your feedback session, typically within 1–2 weeks.
The total for all three stages, paid stage-by-stage, only when a psychologist confirms each step is appropriate. 20% tax relief may apply via Revenue's health expenses scheme: a potential rebate of up to €375. Most major insurers also offer refunds on autism assessments.
Assessments are delivered by AutismCare's experienced clinical psychologists, who specialise in the unique presentation of autism across the lifespan, in partnership with Fettle.

A roughly 60-minute video consultation: an initial discussion of your history, concerns and whether a full assessment is suitable. There's no obligation to proceed afterwards, so it's a low-pressure way to take the first step.
Yes. AutismCare offers ongoing therapy with autism-informed psychologists who understand your unique strengths, with personalised strategies and supportive resources tailored to your needs.
A chartered clinical psychologist specialising in autism leads your assessment, sometimes paired with another specialist if deemed necessary. All clinical processes are supervised by AutismCare's Clinical Director, Dr Sam Gower.
Adult assessments are usually conducted entirely online, giving you flexibility and comfort. You don't need to travel; sessions are held via secure video conferencing, camera on or off, however feels natural.
Recognised frameworks (e.g. DSM-5) and validated clinical assessment instruments, alongside detailed interviews, self-report measures, developmental history, and clinical observation via video.
Absolutely. The philosophy is neuroaffirmative: addressing the challenges of being autistic in a world that doesn't always accommodate your needs, while also identifying your cognitive, social, sensory and adaptive strengths, special interests, and preferred ways of interacting.
The team takes a holistic view. Any existing diagnoses (e.g. anxiety, ADHD, mood conditions) are integrated into the evaluation. Your report will reflect how these interact with autistic features and suggest pathways accordingly.
Yes. All psychologists are professionally qualified and registered (e.g. with PSI), which means your diagnosis is recognised under Irish systems for accessing support. AutismCare is also an approved HSE Service Provider.
Yes. After your assessment, you'll receive a detailed report and can request supporting letters to present to employers, universities, or services, including DARE reports and supports.
Often yes. Many clients may claim around 20% back on health-related expenses from Revenue. With a full pathway cost of €1,887, that's a potential rebate of up to €375. Most major insurers, including VHI, Laya and Irish Life, also offer refunds on autism assessments. Full invoices and registration numbers (PSI numbers, receipts, clinical codes) are provided, though a rebate can't be guaranteed.
All clinical processes are supervised by AutismCare's Clinical Director, Dr Sam Gower, a Clinical Psychologist with over 17 years' experience, registered in both Ireland and the UK. AutismCare is governed by a Board of Directors and undertakes external independent healthcare audits every two years.
From first contact to delivery of the report, the process typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. It usually involves 4 sessions spread over several weeks, with clinical questionnaires completed separately to these sessions.
No referral is required. You can self-refer and begin with a pre-assessment consultation, though GP referrals are also accepted. You may invite a trusted person (partner, family member or friend) to join parts of sessions or provide collateral input, if you prefer.
Final written reports are typically delivered within a few days (or up to 1–2 weeks) after the feedback session, depending on complexity. Strict confidentiality is maintained: sessions are encrypted and data is stored securely in compliance with data protection laws.
Yes. Many adults "mask" traits or make accommodations that hide their autistic profile. A comprehensive assessment can uncover underlying patterns even when previous life functioning has covered it. Understanding of autism has also evolved: it's now seen as a different way of experiencing the world, not a set of "deficits".
You will still receive a full report outlining your cognitive, behavioural and emotional profile, with suggestions for supports or alternative diagnoses if relevant. Many clients say the process offers pathways to self-understanding regardless of the outcome.
Yes, there is a strong genetic component. Many adults discover family members with related traits once assessed.
Whether you're seeking clarity through assessment or support after diagnosis, the pathway starts with one €89 pre-assessment consultation. Not sure if it's right for you? Call AutismCare on +353 1 691 7844.
