Biography:
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I hold a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy (MA) from ICHAS and An honours degree in Psychology with Counselling (BSc) from the Open University.
Prior to training as a therapist, I worked as a primary teacher for many years.
I am a pre-accredited member of the NAPCP.
My Approach:
I am a trauma informed, person-centred integrative therapist. This means that each client is treated as an individual and their autonomy and ability to change is promoted. I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals and strategies for achieving them.
As an integrative therapist I use techniques from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfulness to facilitate clients to bring about the changes they desire in their lives.
Everyone needs additional support from time to time and therapy provides a space to talk openly and honestly and to be supported in a safe environment.
I understand that attending therapy for the first time can be a daunting experience. I aim to provide a confidential, non-judgmental and empathetic space where clients can share their stories, feel seen and heard and begin their healing journey.
My Treatment Approaches:
Person-Centred Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy
Trauma Focused Therapy
