Biography:
Hello and welcome! A little bit about myself, I hold a BA (hons) with Psychology from UCC and an MA in Counselling & Psychotherapy with the Irish College of Applied Humanities and Sciences (ICHAS).
The foundation of my approach is person-centred which I then practice in an integrative way by using suitable techniques and procedures from other modalities depending on the clients needs.
My primary aim is to make the client feel comfortable and secure so that together, we can begin to build a strong alliance which in my opinion, is an integral component to a successful therapeutic experience. I am deeply committed to fostering client empowerment and I believe each person possesses their own set of unique strengths and attributes and my role is to illuminate them. I offer a confidential, judgement free space where clients can identify their issues and then begin to work through them with my support.
I currently work on a one-to-one basis with individuals over 18. I maintain a high standard of therapeutic practice by regularly attending supervision and working within my accrediting bodies (APCP) ethical framework and adhere to their Code of Ethics. (Member: MBR11164). I have worked in private practice settings, community organisations and corporate settings with a range of different issues that include:
Anxiety
Body Image
Communication Issues
Depression
Isolation/loneliness
Personal Development
Stress
Relationship Issues
Self-Esteem
Self-Exploration
