Biography:
As a qualified Counsellor Psychotherapist holding a BSc Honours Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, my journey has been enriched by a diverse array of experiences that have deeply influenced my therapeutic approach.
Having lived in Ireland for over 20 years after relocating from Lithuania, I understand first-hand the complexities of adapting to a new culture. From navigating language barriers to grappling with cultural norms and societal expectations, I understand the multifaceted nature of the immigrant experience. My own journey of adaptation has instilled in me a profound empathy for the struggles and triumphs inherent in cultural adjustment. I am deeply passionate about empowering clients to embrace their cultural identity, navigate cultural transitions, and cultivate a sense of belonging on the land that is not their own.
My professional journey began by providing a short-term counselling, utilizing solution-focused therapy and elements of CBT to address issues such as public speaking anxiety, fears, and phobias. This experience honed my ability to offer practical tools and strategies to empower clients in overcoming specific challenges.
In long-term psychotherapy, I’ve worked collaboratively with clients to navigate a myriad of complex issues. From anxiety and depression to trauma, relationship difficulties, family estrangement, attachment rupture and more. I've walked alongside people as they courageously journey towards healing and self-discovery.
Additionally, my volunteer work at a women's addiction recovery centre as a group therapy facilitator and a counsellor, has provided first-hand insight into the impact of early trauma, resilience and coping mechanisms. Witnessing the resilience of these women has further deepened my understanding of human strength and the transformative power of therapeutic connection.
As I continue on this journey, I remain deeply committed to providing compassionate and tailored support to those seeking healing and growth. Moreover, I am equipped to provide my services in English, Lithuanian, and Russian languages, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity for a diverse range of clients.
Approach:
In my integrative therapeutic approach, psychodynamic therapy which is rooted in psychoanalysis, serves as an “active ingredient”. I deeply believe in the transformative power of unravelling unconscious patterns and delving into past experiences to illuminate present-day struggles. While empirical evidence supports the effectiveness of psychodynamic therapy, I recognize that no single approach fits all. Thus, I am committed to walking alongside you and your unique journey, integrating approaches tailored to your specific needs.
As we journey together, I will foster an environment where you feel empowered to express yourself freely. I will encourage the exploration and open discussion of your emotions, helping you articulate even the most troubling or threatening feelings. Together, we will delve into early experiences, particularly those involving attachment figures, exploring how past events continue to influence your present reality. The aim isn't to dwell on the past for its own sake but to understand how it shapes your current psychological landscape.
My ultimate goal is to facilitate your freedom from the constraints of past experiences, enabling you to embrace the present with newfound clarity and vitality. Let's embark on this transformative journey toward holistic well-being together and learn how to unlearn!
I wholeheartedly believe that therapy is a transformative journey open to everyone. However, I also recognize that finding the right therapist can feel daunting. If I'm not the right fit for you, don't lose hope—keep searching. I promise, there's a therapist out there who's just right for you. You deserve to find that match and to embark on a path toward wellness and happiness. Keep pushing forward because your well-being is worth it!
