As a therapist, I aim to provide a safe, confidential, supportive and respectful environment free of judgement, where you are heard with empathy and compassion to help resolve and heal the issues you are currently facing. The most important factor for me as a therapist is that my client feels safe in order to discuss their innermost personal issues and that they feel they can say anything without judgment.

I use an adaptive integrative and person - centered approach for each client. This is from my background in evidence based psychology, counselling & psychotherapy. This means that the most appropriate and client friendly approach is used to meet the individual needs of the client to aid support and begin the healing process.

It is my personal goal as a therapist that I understand each client from their point of view & to encourage each client to heal and provide therapy tools to be their own therapist. It is important for me as a therapist to understand coping mechanisms and thought patterns that have formed the client in front of me. By fully understanding the depth of each clients’ presenting issues, I can then implement the most appropriate solution focused therapy to support the success of the clients’ goals and desired outcomes.

I have a particular interest and speciality in Attachment therapy as I feel that to understand the person who sits in front of me today, it is important to understand their family and childhood. Adverse childhood experiences can greatly influence physical, emotional and other mental health factors. It is important to explore how a client’s childhood may impact their ability to form healthy and meaningful bonds as an adult. Attachment therapy can help clients to rebuild trust in others and in self and to address issues from childhood to allow for self - esteem and confidence to grow and develop.

Another area which is of interest to me is female health and mental well - being and how hormones can have an implication on mental health. I have worked with many women facing post-partum depression, stillbirth, misscarriage, termination and parental anxiety.

I work with a variety of different clients for which I use an integrative approach. Issues presenting include anxiety, depression, stress, burn out, bereavement, PTSD, self - esteem issues, LGBTQ+ counselling and complex trauma.

My qualifications include:

  • BA Hons Counselling & Psychotherapy from ICHAS

  • BA Early Childhood Care & Education from MTU

  • SafeTalk

  • Children First Act
