About Me:
Hello 👋, I’m Lisa. I’m a qualified counsellor and a pre-accredited member of APCP (Association of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists).
I use a warm integrative approach to counselling with a person-centred focus. I have 28 years of experience working with vulnerable adolescents and adults and have been working in the field of mental health for most of my adult life. I hold a BA in Applied Psychology, a BSc in Forensic Science, a Diploma in Forensic Medical Sciences and an MA in Addiction Counselling. I worked with NOVAS from 2020-2024 and since then I have been trained in Aiseiri and Cuan Mhuire Addiction Treatment Centres. I have also completed additional CPD courses on boundary issues and online counselling. I have lived experience of various mental health issues and addiction recovery, and because of this, I am caring and passionate about helping others in their journey towards good mental health.
I currently serve my local community in private practice and along with addiction, I specialise in complicated grief and attachment disorders, and I have also worked with clients who present with abuse, trauma, ADHD, OCD, depression, anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD and self-harm.
