About me
Hi, I'm Janet. I'm an IAHIP-accredited psychotherapist based in Dublin, working in private practice with adults, particularly women, trans women, and LGBTQ+ clients.
Many of the people I support appear capable and high-functioning on the outside, yet internally struggle with anxiety, low self-esteem, self-doubt, burnout, and the pressure to hold everything together. This can show up as chronic overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or the exhaustion of masking, especially for neurodivergent adults navigating ADHD, autism, or a later diagnosis.
I have a particular interest in women's mental health, including hormonal transitions, reproductive experiences (including post-abortion support), workplace stress, and identity shifts across different life stages.
My approach is humanistic and integrative, rooted in a person-centred philosophy. I offer a warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences, build self-awareness, strengthen your sense of self, and develop more sustainable ways of coping and relating. My practice is neurodivergent-affirming, gender-affirming, and LGBTQ+-affirming.
Before retraining as a psychotherapist, I worked in HR and office management, mentoring early-career professionals. This informs my understanding of workplace dynamics, burnout, career transitions, and the challenges of managing professional life alongside anxiety or low self-worth.
Alongside my core clinical training, I have completed additional training in suicide prevention (safeTALK, LivingWorks), neurodiversity in the therapy room, and I am currently undertaking specialist training in treating OCD using a CBT approach.
