Online Psychiatry Assessments

At Fettle, we are proud to launch our brand new online psychiatry services. We are currently offering assessments in Anxiety and Mood Disorders.

Mental Health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being. It involves being aware of one's abilities, effectively managing everyday stress, performing productively, and contributing positively to the community.

When significant life changes cause distress or impair social, professional, or other vital aspects, seeking psychiatric assessment and intervention becomes crucial.

Avoiding treatment can worsen outcomes, leading to more severe conditions, reduced treatment response, and negative consequences on an individual's functioning in the medium to long term.

Who Can Benefit from a Psychiatric Assessment?

Our services cater to individuals dealing with:

- Anxiety disorders (panic disorder, generalised anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, phobias, and post-traumatic stress disorder, somatoform disorders)

- Mood disorders (including depression and bipolar affective disorder)

- Support for loss and complicated grief

- Adjustment Disorder

- Workplace stress

As we are currently in the early phase for setting up our online specialist psychiatric services, we would not be able to provide assessments for Acute presentations/Crisis Management, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Schizophrenia, Memory related difficulties, Eating disorders, and Substance misuse.

Our Psychiatry Services

  • Embarking on your mental health journey with our online psychiatry service begins with a thorough and compassionate new patient assessment. This initial evaluation is pivotal for us to understand your unique needs, challenges, and goals. Through confidential and empathetic conversations, our experienced psychiatric professionals aim to build a comprehensive picture of your mental health. This assessment creates a safe space to express your concerns openly.

The insights gathered during this process enable us to tailor a personalised treatment plan, combining therapeutic approaches, potential medication considerations, and any necessary clinical tests. We are dedicated to ensuring that this assessment sets the foundation for a supportive and effective journey towards your mental well-being.

  • This assessment is a comprehensive review of the effectiveness of the existing mental health treatment plan. During this follow-up, patients can discuss changes in their condition, share their experiences with implemented strategies, and express evolving concerns. Your psychiatrist uses this information to refine and tailor the ongoing treatment approach, which may include adjustments to therapeutic interventions, medication, or additional support. The follow-up assessment serves as a valuable checkpoint, fostering a collaborative and responsive relationship between patients and the online psychiatry service, ultimately promoting sustained mental well-being.

  • A telephone inquiry acts as an initial point of contact for individuals seeking mental health support. During this conversation, our dedicated psychiatrists will provide information about our services and the scheduling process and address any general queries related to our online psychiatry platform.

This inquiry is a valuable opportunity for potential patients to learn about our approach, the expertise of our psychiatric professionals, and the overall structure of our online mental health services. Our psychiatrists are committed to offering a supportive and informative experience, guiding individuals through the initial steps toward accessing the online psychiatry service and promoting a sense of comfort and confidence in seeking mental health assistance.

  • A medical report is a comprehensive document generated after thoroughly assessing an individual's mental health. This detailed report encompasses vital information about the patient's psychological well-being, presenting symptoms, and relevant medical history. Our online psychiatry professionals use their expertise to analyse the assessment findings, providing a clear diagnosis and personalised treatment recommendations.

The medical report is a roadmap for the patient's mental health journey, outlining therapeutic interventions, potential medication considerations, and any necessary clinical tests. It is a valuable tool for communication between psychiatric professionals and the patient, fostering transparency and collaboration in the pursuit of optimal mental well-being through our online psychiatry service.

  • We can issue prescriptions for most routine medications following an initial assessment. However, we cannot issue prescriptions for medications that require close monitoring such as Lithium as well as potential drugs of abuse such as benzodiazepines, stimulants, pregabalin, gabapentin, sleeping tablets.

  • If you have suicidal thoughts or think you may harm yourself or others, we urge you to contact your local doctor, a trusted family member or a friend or attend your local emergency department. Alternatively, you can contact The Samaritans helpline on 116 123. Pieta House also provides suicide and self-harm support services all over Ireland. To contact Pieta House, call their free, 24-hour crisis helpline on 1800 247 247.
